This is just beautiful…..
Alec flushed, “If you say so.”
“I say so.”
Startled out of whatever stupor the young man had previously been in, staring at the same spot on the same page for the past…who knows how long he snapped his attention up at the voice and felt a dumb, stupid smile working it’s way across his lips. At one point in his life being called darling by anybody would have irked him, made him scowl and his brows furrow in annoyance but now—just with Magnus— that dumb, stupid little smile would appear and his cover blown.
His cover only got blown when whatever happened was dealing with Magnus. “Hey.” he greeted warmly, moving sidelong on the couch to offer the other some room—not to say he was taking up a lot of it— but out of habit…
Internally he sighed and closed his book after marking his page and placed it on the table in front of him lightly before stretching his legs out before him and looking to the warlock “And just how are you Mr. I think I’ll sleep all day?” he teased, even if it was only an hour and then some after noon and they had been up rather late the previous night.
Sleeping in was unheard of to Alec Lightwood, he wondered if he should give it a try sometime.
Magnus chuckled and sat down on the couch beside him. Chairman Meow leaped up into his lap, meowing loudly in complaint of having to wait for him to get up. Being the warlock he was, Magnus rather liked sleeping in.
"Even Warlock’s need their beauty sleep, sweetheart" he replied and smiled back at Alec warmly. He leaned over to him and gave him a quick kiss before sitting back. "You’re up early. Again. I take it you still haven’t been able to try and sleep in for once? Maybe I can find a potion or spell to help you…"
He pondered that thought silently for a moment before shaking his head and getting up again to feed Chairman Meow. As he made his way over to the kitchen he sang cheerily, and wiggled his ass at Alec before smirking over his shoulder. “Are you hungry, sweetpea?” he asked. “I’ll make food”.
He kept trying out nicknames for Alec and so far he wasn’t getting anywhere. Not a single one seemed to fit him just right.
